A unique new competitive game is set to take voice-controlled games in a different direction. Solo developer M. Katsu has unveiled the Steam page for Bow Wow Battle, a 1v1 fighter where players must bark into their microphones to defeat opponents.
Launching in Early Access on May 1, 2026, the game uses a tug-of-war mechanic triggered by the volume, frequency, and clarity of the player's barks. The title features a full story mode called “Dog Road,” where players battle through eight stages of canine rivals to become the ultimate champion.
For those looking to fully commit to the bit, the game offers full voice control, enabling hands-free navigation of all menus using voice commands alone. Online matchmaking will also be available, allowing “dogs” from around the world to test their vocal cords against one another. Future updates are expected to expand the roster with popular breeds and a tiered ranking system.
