Shingo Natsume's first original film ghost – end of night has unveiled a new teaser trailer and key visual, alongside confirming a release date for February 11 next year.
According to the translated description of the teaser trailer, the film is set in a near future where "labor is no longer necessary." It follows main character Neekei as she searches for something "real" in a perfect society. Evocative visuals are then underscored by the insert song 'Sugar', produced by Hitsujibungaku.
The key visual confirms that a male character by the name of Mas will also play an important role, but there are few details available otherwise. Who is providing the voice for the main character hasn't even been confirmed yet, although this will most likely come later on. In many ways, it's a typically mysterious approach from the director who brought us the equally baffling Sonny Boy in 2021.
As previously announced, Natsume Ono is contributing character designs for the project. The pair crossed paths once before when Natsume adapted her ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. manga in 2017, so it's good to see that they kept in touch. Guitarist and composer Ohzora Kimishima will also produce the soundtrack.
