Bandai’s card division has revealed a major overhaul for its flagship arcade real-time strategy card game. Formerly known as Mobile Suit Gundam: Arsenal Base, the updated title Mobile Suit Gundam: Arsenal Commander is scheduled to launch nationwide in arcades in February 2027.

The revamp brings significant structural changes to the arcade platform. Replacing the classic head-to-head 1v1 mode, Arsenal Commander introduces a three-faction 1v1v1 battle system set on an inverted triangular battlefield. Players will also utilize a new single-slot "Commander Card," which applies color-coded (Red, Green, or Blue) stat buffs to matching unit and pilot cards in their deck.

Crucially for veteran players, existing Arsenal Base physical card collections will be 100% backward-compatible, allowing players to upgrade their current builds by simply adding a Commander Card. An open beta test featuring three pre-built starter decks (including the new GQuuuuuuX unit) will run at roughly 40 arcade locations across Japan from August 28 to December 20, 2026, ahead of the full release.
