EDITION88 has officially announced a career-retrospective art exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of renowned mangaka and character designer Kosuke Fujishima. Set to take place in Tokyo and Osaka in autumn 2026, the exhibition will feature around 100 original manuscripts, color art pieces, and character design works spanning his four-decade career.
Fujishima made an indelible mark on Japanese pop culture through hit manga series such as Oh My Goddess! and You're under Arrest!, as well as his iconic character design work for franchise juggernauts including Sega's Sakura Wars and Bandai Namco's Tales of RPG series.
The exhibition will debut at Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo from September 18 to October 4, 2026, before moving to Namba Marui in Osaka from October 30 to November 15. Attendees can look forward to character photo spots, exclusive merchandise, fine art "88 Graph" prints, and random entry bonus postcards featuring classic manuscript art. Additionally, Tokyo visitors spending ¥5,000 or more at the venue will have the chance to secure a spot for an autograph session with Fujishima on September 26.
Tickets are priced at ¥1,500, with doors opening daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at both locations. Full information for the upcoming event can be found on the Kosuke Fujishima 40th anniversary exhibition's official website.
