Cover Corporation, the parent company of virtual YouTuber agency hololive, has announced a new "talent raising project" by the name of mekPark. Instead of debuting multiple talents with multiple managers, this new initiative promises to pair a set of "trainees" with a single director. What’s more, the very first unit appears to be on the way very soon.
As of the time of writing, Cover has launched seven different VTuber projects, mainly consisting of various hololive branches and the female-oriented HOLOSTARS. The latest iteration was hololive DEV_IS in 2023: a sub-brand with a focus on unit activities instead of individual streams. FLOW GLOW, the second generation of talents to debut under the DEV_IS umbrella, released their first album on January 21.
Given the group nature of DEV_IS, there seems to be some crossover with mekPark, but it's worth noting that the word "hololive" is nowhere to be found on the official website nor the initial press release. The new project is actually more reminiscent of vα-liv, The Idolmaster’s virtual YouTuber branch, in the sense that a timeline for the group has already been established. While it’s not stated up front, the press release clearly says that the talents will continue to be active for up to “two years” before debuting officially.

Silhouettes for six characters from two units have been revealed as part of the initial announcement, but only one unit has their YouTube channel up and ready. They’re called ACHRORA, while the other talents are just called “Unit B” for the time being. You can subscribe to ACHRORA’s channel here.
Many questions still surround mekPark, such as to what extent will they form part of the hololive brand. Will they even participate in hololive SUPER EXPO? IWhat kind of creatives has Cover employed to act as “directors”? We’ll just have to wait and see.
