MAGES. revealed their latest project on August 27, promising a more supernatural take from the renowned studio.

Titled Seeker Eye, the story behind this title actually goes all the way back in 2024. As part of a series of horror videos, the voice actor Mariko Honda read an original ghost story by the name of The House With the Red Roof. In the new game, the players finds themselves haunted by apparitions after hearing this tale, creating an eerie link between fact and fiction.

Heading up the staff roster are a number of studio veterans, including Ryo Yasumoto, the writer for Steins;Gate 0 and Chaos;Child. That last entry in the science adventure series certainly leaned into more supernatural elements, but Seeker Eye is the first bonafide horror title from the team. Considering how popular scarier stories are among younger audiences now, perhaps it's a good business move.

Seeker Eye will launch later this year.
