Kodansha's Young Magazine is ringing in summer by opening its own beach hut, inviting fans to drink beer and read as much manga as they want while relaxing by the ocean.
From now until September 13, the hut is serving up chilled drinks and hot food by the seafront just a stone's throw from Katase-Enoshima Station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line. Reservations are also being taken for a special barbecue course and a VIP experience, the contents of which have yet to be revealed. Entrance is free, but customers must order one drink or item of food each before checkout.

What makes this installation somewhat unique among the many beach huts that line the seafront of Enoshima is the fact that it has over 10,000 manga volumes available for customers to read. These are obviously all Young Magazine series, including Kaiji, The Fable, Initial D and Chainsmoker Cat. Illustrations from various works will also line the walls of the hut.
The formation of the El Nino stormfront again this year most likely means a relatively mild and humid summer throughout Japan, but that doesn't mean it'll be any less unpleasant. If the manga is ready and the beer is flowing, then this will no doubt serve as great publicity for Young Magazine.
