Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter has taken over Shibuya with a swarm of advertisements to thank fans for the series' latest milestone.
Just ahead of the latest volume going on sale July 3, publisher Shueisha recently confirmed that Hunter x Hunter has now surpassed 100 million copies in circulation. This includes both physical volumes and digital sales, further strengthening the series' position as the second best-selling manga currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump behind Eiichiro Oda's One Piece.

Given the tremendous milestone, an ambitious campaign is certainly warranted. Dotted around Shibuya from now until July 5 are billboards featuring 115 different characters, ranging from the likes of Gon and Killua all the way to Brion the Botanical Weapon from the Dark Continent. Fans are tasked with tracking down each and every installation and scanning the QR code next to it, thus registering it as "found" on the official website.
As of the time of writing, 113 out of 115 billboards have already been found, but it's an interesting campaign that allows fans to step into the shoes of a Hunter from the series. Even if you're not the first on the scene, you could win a special set of stickers by following the official Hunter x Hunter X account and posting a picture with the specified hashtags.
