Out of nowhere, Game Freak have announced a new mobile game being developed by Chronogate titled Ame Nochi Hare Onna due out this winter on iOS and Android.

The PV shows off what appears to be a new take on magical girls fighting monsters manifested from elements like books and sweets while also participating in daily life as typical schoolgirls.

With the title being developed by Chronogate, it does raise the question if this is a concept that was just born within Game Freak and then outsourced or if the studio has been hands on the whole way through. We can assume that this and more will be revealed later today as Game Freak have also announced a special livestream taking place at 7pm JST that will provide more information on the new title. The timing is also pretty convenient with Tokyo Game Show right around the corner, it certainly seems like they're trying to get ahead of any potentially big announcements happening later in the week.

We'll certainly be tuned in tonight to learn more about this surprise new title from the house that Pokémon built.
