Cult-classic 90s manga EAT-MAN is making a comeback with an all-new TV anime project titled EAT-MAN The Over Order.
First serialized in the pages of Dengeki Comic GAO! in 1996 by Akihito Yoshitomi, EAT-MAN follows Bolt Crank, a stoic mercenary explorer who eats metal and machinery to reconstruct weapons directly out of his hands. The new series marks the franchise's first anime adaptation in nearly three decades following its previous runs in 1997 and 1998.
Original creator Akihito Yoshitomi is directly involved in the production, penning the script and creating original design concepts for an all-new storyline. Masashi Ebara is also returning to reprise his iconic role as Bolt Crank.
An short teaser trailer released alongside the announcement leans heavily into nostalgia, opening with a dedicated message: "To everyone who loves the Heisei era—" before showcasing Bolt Crank picking up a stray screw in a barren wasteland. Release dates and broadcast platform details are expected in future updates.
