After a 7 year hiatus, a new Dragon Ball Super anime has officially been announced. Titled Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, the series will adapt the “Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga” from Akira Toriyama & Toyotaro’s Dragon Ball Super manga.
The story continues on from the Dragon Ball Super TV anime and sees Goku and Vegeta teaming up with the Galactic Patrol to take on a dangerous new threat, Planet-Eater Moro. Moro is a powerful and ancient wizard who wiped-out hundreds of planets millions of years before the story takes place. His power was sealed away by the Supreme Kai and he was imprisoned by the Galactic Patrol, this saga finds him escaping to threaten the existence of Universe 7 once again.

A teaser visual released alongside the announcement shows both characters wearing outfits marked with the Galactic Patrol insignia.
The reveal also included a special video celebrating the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Produced by Toei Animation, the anniversary footage is directed by Naoki Miyahara, a longtime Dragon Ball anime veteran, with music composed by Hans Zimmer. The video focuses on bringing Toriyama’s original artwork to life while highlighting Goku’s long journey and growth.
More details about Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol, including its release timing, are expected to be announced at a later date.
