Detective Conan and Star Detective Precure have teamed up for a very special collaboration. In a first for the long running franchises, characters from both series will appear in each other's respective episodes, constituting a crossover of epic proportions.
Star Detective Precure is the latest entry in the Precure series: a mixed media magical girl franchise beginning in 1994 aimed at elementary school children and below. Detective Conan, meanwhile, is the long running anime adaptation of Gosho Aoyama's original manga targeting a similar audience. Both have been on the air for over two decades, with Conan in particular celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

As for the collaboration, Edogawa Conan will appear in episode 18 of Star Detective Precure alongside Cure Answer and Cure Mystique to solve the mystery of a stolen art piece. The aforementioned magical girls will also play a part in a special episode of Detective Conan when the Detective Boys attempt to track down the culprit of a recent string of robberies. Not only are both stories linked, they will air a week apart on May 31 and June 6 respectively.
This is not the first time that neither Detective Conan nor Precure have featured characters from other series for a collaboration. In 2009, Arsène Lupin III went head to head with the boy detective for a special episode, while Precure teamed up with Crayon Shin-chan during its previous incarnation centered around the theme of idols. Nevertheless, the fact that neither series have done anything together up until this point makes this one to watch.
