Tezuka Productions is digging deep into Astro Boy's past for a new limited edition sofubi release based on his appearance at the time of his debut. For those who aren't aware, before Osamu Tezuka started Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy), the characters of Professor Ochanomizu, Dr. Tenma, and Atom were all significant players in a short-lived manga he created called Ambassador Atom. The story had much to do with space and some shenanigans with aliens, but Atom's origin story remained the same and it was even re-printed as "chapter 0" of Astro Boy years later.
This new sofubi toy of Atom will be exclusive to the Osamu Tezuka Museum shop and AKIBA INFO x TOKYO ATOM shop and will be sold via lottery. Lottery sales tickets will be distributed from 11:00-12:00 on the day of sale, with winners being announced at 13:00. The cost will be ¥12,100 after tax.

For a full breakdown on the lottery terms and information on both of the participating shops, check out the Osamu Tezuka official website.
