J-pop quartet Ryokuoushoku Shakai has released their latest single, “Riding the wind,” the featured theme song for the theatrical anime L'étoile de Paris en fleur. To celebrate the release a collaboration video with the anime movie has been released (see below) with the official music video set to premiere on March 11.
The track was composed by bassist Shingo Anami, who aimed to capture the “surge of excitement” he felt when joining the project. To match the film's early-20th-century Parisian setting, the band blended traditional classical instrumentation with their signature ensemble sound. Vocalist Haruko Nagaya, who penned the lyrics, expressed a wish for the song to become a “trigger for people to take a new step forward,” emphasizing themes of courage and renewal.
The release arrives as the band hits a massive career landmark: their breakout hit “Mela!” has officially surpassed 500 million streams.
