
ZONe Energy announced on January 28 that it will be collaborating with Square Enix’s Dragon Quest series with limited-edition cans and other embellishments.

The collaboration includes a special “HYPER ZONe Metal Slime Energy” can, designed around the familiar “Critical Hit!” moment from the games. The Metal Slime, a rare enemy that gives a large amount of experience when defeated, is used for the design, with the theme of leveling-up after a successful fight.
In addition to the Metal Slime can, regular cans of ZONe Energy will replace the usual logo sticker with one featuring different monsters from the franchise. Scanning the QR code located on the back of these stickers will take you to a special video featuring one of a random selection of monsters.

The limited-edition cans are scheduled to go on sale on 24 February. Ahead of that, an early sampling event will take place at Shibuya Sakura Stage on 5 February, where they will be distributing 4,800 free cans. The date also coincides with the release of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined.
ZONe Energy will also be running related campaigns offering collaboration merchandise to coincide with the promotion. Additional details and participation notes are available on the brand’s official social media accounts.
