OVERLAP GAMES announced today that Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga, a new visual novel from NEKONEKO SOFT, will launch on PC via Steam on July 10, 2026. The title serves as the debut project for the newly established visual novel publishing label under OVERLAP Co., Ltd.

Set during an intensely hot summer vacation in 1972, the story follows a high school student named Naofuyu. While visiting his grandparents' rural hometown with his younger sister, Naofuyu investigates a local legend about a hidden shrine—a modern-day "Mayoiga"—that emerges from a lake only during the summer months. Upon tracking down the elusive dwelling, he discovers a solitary girl who has been trapped alone inside it for countless years, sparking an emotional tale where past and present intertwine.

The game's scenario is penned by Tomo Kataoka, whose previous work Narcissu gained international recognition for its minimalist exploration of life amidst harsh realities. Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga aims to carry forward that same signature emotional depth and rich worldbuilding.

The title will retail for $17.99 USD and to celebrate the launch, OVERLAP GAMES will host a limited-time 10% discount sale on Steam running from July 10 through July 19, 2026.
