Streetwear legend and design icon Hiroshi Fujiwara revealed a new collaboration pop-up, GUNDAM45FRGMT, between his company FRAGMENT DESIGN and Gundam will be taking place in Shibuya starting February 1, 2025. Based on the official name of the collaboration we can surmise that its in honor of the 45th anniversary of the franchise which has been the cause of events and merch drops for the past year.
Anyone following Fujiwara on Instagram likely surmised something was coming soon as just a few days ago he shared some images related to the collaboration. One of the images includes what looks like an MG RX-78-2 Gunpla kit themed with his FRAGMENT thunderbolt logo.
Nothing has been announced in regards to what will be included with the pop-up, but based on his previous THUNDERBOLT PROJECT collaboration with Pokémon we can definitely make some guesses. Given the Gundam franchise has its own apparel line, STRICT-G, and Fujiwara's legendary status in the streetwear world we can assume there will be some clothing involved. It's also a very safe bet that the previously mentioned Gunpla kit will be part of it as well since the plastic model line has previously collaborated with streetwear brands BAPE, SUPREME, and MASTERMIND. Regardless of what will be included, we won't have to wait too long to find out.
The GUNDAM45FRGMT pop-up will be running from February 1, 2025 through February 24, 2025 at 6-1-9 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku which is in the Omotesando area. It's very likely that it's going to attract a ton of attention and long lines, so be prepared if you're in the area and plan to check it out.
