Ahead of a world tour later this year, the Kagurabachi anime has unveiled its first look at protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira's full character design. In addition, the character's voice actor has also shared a special video message.
Those who have read the original manga by Takeru Hokazono will know that one of Chihiro's defining features is his piercing glaze. Even when draped in shadow, his eyes are the one thing that shine through, helped along by their blood red hue. Glimpses of this were possible in the anime's initial teaser trailer, but the full character design (as featured below) really shows that nothing has been lost in the jump from the page.

What's more, Chihiro's voice actor Taihi Kimura offered his thoughts on the character in a special video shared the anime's official X account. Clad in a traditional kimono next to a sheathed katana, Kimura called the original manga "truly beautiful" and expressed his excitement to be involved with the project. He even relayed the story of when he first received the role, admitting that he spent a full minute screaming on the phone with his manager after hearing the news.
Kagurabachi is set air in April 2027.
