Arc System Works will open a new studio to work on a new fighting game selected for the IP360 project.
Known as Arc System Works Tokyo Studio Takumi, the new venture is intended to go beyond existing game development frameworks and deliver a sense of “ultimate excitement” to players around the world. The office is located in Shinjuku, some 50 minutes away from the company's main headquarters in Yokohama. In a statement, Arc System Works explained that Studio Takumi is also meant to serve as an "outward-facing collaboration hub" with a global reach.

With this international focus in mind, perhaps it is no surprise that the studio's first project is a new title for the IP360 initiative. The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry launched the fund earlier this year to help with the government's target of increasing annual overseas revenue related to the content business to 20 trillion yen by 2033. As part of the program, development costs can be subsidized up to 50%.
