Secret Society holoX member Laplus Darknesss has courted considerable controversy with a recent post about sexual comments from male fans.
In a post from October 17, the virtual YouTuber explained that she often engages in dirty talk with her fellow streamers because they have a prior relationship. She doesn't have the same kind of personal connection with her fans, however, making any sexual comments she receives come across as disturbing. Furthermore, the fact that hololive is made up entirely of women provides a certain piece of mind that isn't possible with male fans.

わたくしは友達や先輩と下ネタで盛り上がったり、配信でよく話したりしますね。

Aside from directly addressing the majority of the hololive audience, where the real trouble starts is the fact that Laplus uses the term "osu" to refer to her male fans. Given that this word is usually only used for animals, it has been seen as misandrist and evidence of a hateful agenda. The talent already received considerable backlash earlier this year when a character from Gakuen Idolmaster appeared in her birthday concert.
In a follow-up post to her sub account, Laplus praised those male fans who are aware of their sexual tendencies and act on them in places talents cannot see.
