Jun Maeda, creator of Air and Clannad, is currently in palliative care with pharyngeal cancer.
In a post from October 19, the Key studio explained that its founder had chosen to forgo active treatment in an effort to conserve his strength and devote himself entirely to creative work. Alongside the latest chapter for Heavens Burn Red, Maeda is currently working on a new music project that will be released sequentially on YouTube. This was originally intended to be a long term venture, but the focus is now on completing production on songs currently in development.
