Ado and Tsunku♂ have produced a new song by the name of “Love me forever!” for the latest game in the Rhythm Heaven series, released yesterday for Nintendo Switch consoles.
In a lengthy blog post, Tsunku♂ details how exactly the collaboration came about. The thought of having Ado participate in the latest game apparently crossed his mind early on, but her cover of his 2009 song “Mecha Mote I LOVE YOU” from the Gokujou!! Mecha Mote Iinchou anime was what made him reach out. Luckily, the singer was already a fan of the Rhythm Heaven series and immediately said yes.
Even so, creating the song itself was another challenge entirely. It wasn't until Tsunku♂ went to see Ado in Hawaii that the pieces fell into place, choosing to focus on a low melody that would make good use of her growling vocals. The song's incessant demands to 'Love me forever' also relate to the fact that Ado started out by making music alone in her bedroom.
Both the song and the game might now be out for everyone to enjoy, but Ado herself doesn't have that luxury. Speaking via X, she remarked that "I really want to hurry up and play Rhythm Heaven, but I'm holding out until the concert is over tomorrow. If I don't, I think I'll just end up just getting up on stage and playing on my Switch."
