
Sapporo Breweries has officially launched its nationwide sale of Sapporo Draft Beer Black Label Evangelion design cans today, April 7, 2026. The collaboration celebrates the 30th anniversary of the iconic anime franchise, following a successful sneak peek at Yokohama Arena earlier this year.
The release is accompanied by a range of exclusive merchandise at the Black Label THE SHOP, including specialized bar glasses and items featuring a new depiction of Evangelion Unit-13 by acclaimed director Mahiro Maeda.
In a newly released special interview, Maeda discusses the creative process behind the 500ml can design and reflects on the collaboration’s core theme: “Continually questioning what it means to be an adult.” Fans in Japan can also participate in a social media giveaway on X for a chance to win limited-edition glassware sets to pair with their collectible cans.
