YOSHIROTTEN, the renowned Japanese artist and designer, has opened his largest exhibition to date at Toranomon Hills’ sky-high cultural facility Tokyo Node. The immersive exhibition ‘YOSHIROTTEN: Communication with the Other Side / BEYOND EARTH’ runs until January 11th 2027.
Everything within the venue is designed to look like a giant spaceship floating above the skyline of Tokyo. Using huge LED screens, neon tubing and data light installation the exhibition transforms the city into a living machine.
The highlight of the exhibition is the collab with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). Using real data from satellites tracking black holes and neutron stars YOSHIROTTEN has managed to bring the numbers to life as a piece of artwork. Real lab equipment from JAXA is used within the installation to create a true fusion of astrophysics and art.

BEYOND EARTH combines some new cosmic experiments along with pieces that center on his iconic ‘RGB’, ‘FUTURE NATURE’, and ‘SUN’ series. The exhibition is a celebration of his last 10 years but also takes him into new territory. Along with music, fashion and culture events planned throughout the exhibition it is easily one of the most ambitious exhibitions in Tokyo this season.
