Juufuutei Raden and Sorashina Sopia have confirmed that they were childhood friends before joining the hololive virtual YouTuber agency together.
Raden made a surprise appearance on Sopia's stream from October 29 where she showed off some recent purchases from the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo. Through some technical difficulties, the pair were able to reveal their prior relationship and the fact that they were told not to speak openly about it until now. Hilarity ensued as Sopia struggled to drop the 'senpai' from Raden's name, despite the protests.
In hindsight, the two talents have a very similar background in education. Sopia revealed in her debut live stream that she holds a PhD in physics, while Raden studied art history at university. Given that Raden grew up in Fukuoka, it would be safe to assume that Sopia is from there too.
