Ao Oni, the iconic purple monster from the horror game of the same name, is set to become a virtual YouTuber.

In an announcement post, the official Ao Oni account revealed that the creature will begin its streaming career with a let's play of Onimusha: Way of the Sword on October 30. Crucially, it will remain "completely mute," albeit with some reaction noises and screams filtered through a voice changer. Just how this will work out in practice remains to be seen.

Given the proximity to Halloween, this feels like an appropriate tie-up. Ao Oni has also continued to prove popular in recent years, with a collaboration at Tokyo Dome opening its doors just days ago.
