On July 27, marking the anniversary of electronic musician Rei Harakami’s passing, AMBIENT KYOTO posted a teaser image for an exhibition dedicated to the artist across its official Instagram and X accounts. The announcement coincides with a surge of tributes on social media remembering Harakami, which led to his name trending on X and demonstrating his enduring popularity.

While no further details have been revealed yet, the update on the official site confirms that the exhibition will take place from March through June 2027. We'll be keeping an eye out for more details on this event as they become available.

In the meantime, AMBIENT KYOTO will be also holding a full-scale encore of their 2023 Ryuichi Sakamoto + Shiro Takatani “async - immersion” exhibit in Tokyo. This exhibition will run from 28 August until 25 October, 2026 at Azabudai Hills Gallery.
