Nagoshi Studio has been officially dissolved following a shareholder meeting at the end of October.
An extra edition of the Cabinet Office's daily newsletter confirmed the news on November 2. Under Japanese law, companies must submit a notice to this publication as soon as possible when entering liquidation. This is to alert external creditors and allow them to submit any outstanding claims during a two month grace period.
Considering that main investment partner NetEase Games already pulled funding back in March, the writing was on the wall. Bloomberg reported at the time that the team was searching for additional funding, but clearly nothing turned up. Nagoshi Studio was launched in 2021 following Yakuza creator's Toshihiro Nagoshi departure from SEGA.
The Steam page for Gang of Dragon still says 'Coming Soon.'
