Cover has announced sweeping organizational changes to hololive production ahead of the virtual YouTuber agency's tenth anniversary in 2027.
In a live stream on September 7 titled hololive Next, Cover President and CEO Motoaki "YAGOO" Tanigo revealed that all sub-branches of female talents would be combined into a single organization simply known as hololive going forward. This includes branches separated by language and region, such as hololive English and hololive Indonesia, as well as hololive DEV_IS. Several talents have already changed their social media handles to reflect this.
The reaction to this change has been mixed to say the least. On the one hand, talents have been quick to reassure fans that their activities will not be affected in the slightest, while others have lamented the loss of a part of their identity. Takanashi Kiara, one of the first to debut from hololive English, remarked that sub-brand will now never get a chance to celebrate its sixth anniversary.

During the live stream, Tanigo explained that change was made in order to produce content for a more global audience. In particular, the existing hololive English and hololive Indonesia channels will be retooled away from talent-specific content and towards region-specific content, suggesting the possibility that Japanese language talents could appear in more global activations through translation and interpretation. For her part, Mori Calliope expressed a desire to take part in more initiatives geared towards a domestic audience.
The live stream also revealed that hololive will be getting an anime series from Studio KAI, a new unit will be debuting for the first time in two years, and the company will release a new streaming app for talents.
