Almost five years since its initial announcement, the long-awaited anime film adaptation of TYPE-MOON's Witch on the Holy Night by ufotable will finally hit cinema screens in Japan on November 20.
The release date was announced at a special event in Ikebukuro on July 7 to celebrate main character Aoko Aozaki's birthday. In addition, a new trailer for the project was premiered, showing off more footage. Haruka Tomatsu, Kana Hanazawa and Yusuke Kobayashi all reprise their roles from the original 2012 game.
Perhaps more interestingly, a new series of novels will release every month from August to October based on the game's original scenario. It's fairly common knowledge at this point that Witch on the Holy Night first began life as a novel by Kinoko Nasu way before the release of Tsukihime and Fate/stay night, so there's something poetic about the story finally being released in this format.
