Shun Saeki has terminated his exclusivity agreement with publisher Shueisha, bringing an end to nearly fifteen years of collaboration.

The Food Wars! artist confirmed the change via X on November 1 alongside a new drawing of Soma and Erina. He is now accepting new offers for work in the fields of illustration and character design, but expresses gratitude for everyone who has helped him out up until this point.

Considering that the last thing Saeki produced for Shueisha was a crossover between Food Wars! and Kinnikuman all the way back in 2024, this is not entirely unexpected. What will be exciting to see if who scoops him up.
