Heavyweight industry veterans Masahiko Ibaraki (former Editor-in-Chief of Weekly Shonen Jump) and Hideki Egami (former Editor-in-Chief of Monthly IKKI) have officially launched MANGABU!, a new digital manga platform published by Fahm Entertainment Inc.
Using with the tagline “After school isn't over yet,” the platform aims to capture the creative freedom of Japan's after-school clubs. Moving away from rigid demographic and genre boundaries, MANGABU! launched on August 17 with 15 simultaneous new titles across suspense, romance, comedy, and slice-of-life genres.

The initial lineup features high-profile releases, including Kome to Hana to, Awai to by Daisuke Higuchi (creator of Whistle!) and The Bomber's Daughter, a manga adaptation of Aki Kajiwara’s non-fiction novel illustrated by Umematsu.
"We want to focus single-mindedly on pure entertainment," said Ibaraki, emphasizing the platform's commitment to story-first publishing. MANGABU! plans to continually expand its catalog with bi-weekly and monthly release schedules for its core roster.
