In 2024 Hikaru Utada held their first tour in 6 years to celebrate 25 years since their major label debut, Science Fiction Tour 2024. During the course of the tour, 9 photographers captured their own unique views of the performer and those perspectives are being collected for a new photo book and accompanying gallery exhibition in Japan this March.
HIKARU UTADA SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024 NINE STORIES, which is named after a short story from novelist JD Salinger, is composed of visual perspectives collected across shows from 9 different cities during the tour. The contemporary artists who are participating in the book & exhibition include:
The photobook for NINE STORIES comes in two different configurations. Each photographer will have their own single 48 page book priced at ¥2200, while a complete set of all 9 books with an accompanying lenticular box will be available for ¥15,000. The gallery exhibition inspired by this collection of photographs will be held from March 7, 2025 until March 30, 2025 at New Gallery in Jimbocho, Tokyo.
