Akita Shoten's Dokodemo Young Champion digital magazine will cease publication with its next issue. That being said, the reasons are quite different from similar cases reported in previous days.
Dokodemo Young Champion was originally launched in 2019 as an entirely digital magazine sold through various online storefronts. Several of its serializations published new chapters first via the Yanchan Live! website, operated by Book Live, before being collated into the anthology at the end of every month. At present, the publication boasts over 60 series: a staggering amount only made possible by the freedom of digital distribution.

That being said, it seems as if even that has its limits. In an official statement, the Dokodemo Young Champion editorial team noted that "We wanted to keep going and grow the magazine to over 3000 pages, but we've come up against the problem of being unable to distribute via certain online bookstores due to the amount of content." In other words, the magazine is now simply too long due to the amount of series to put on such sites as Comic Cmoa and Bookwalker.
While Dokodemo Young Champion was never a massive hit, it did carry several important series such as From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, based on the original light novels by Shigeru Sagasaki. It also helped Champion build out its digital presence via the Yanchan website and launch several works targeted toward women. Luckily, all of the magazines' current features will continue to run on the aforementioned website, as well as Yanchan Live!.
