Kojima Productions has revealed the first trailer for Death Stranding: Isolations, an original anime based on the game starring Norman Reedus.
The project was originally announced in 2025 with Ilya Kushinov (Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045) as the character designer. He is still credited with the original character designs at the end of the trailer, but Sayaka Koiso (Jujutsu Kaisen) has now seemingly come on board as the character designer proper. Takayuki Sano is still directing the series over at E&H production.
The trailer's description states that the original story is set after Sam (played by Norman Reedus) connects North America with the chiral network during the events of the first game. It centers around a young girl dealing with the loss of her mother and promises to show a different side to the setting. The release is currently set for 2027.
