Sake fans and Chiikawa lovers can now recreate Kurimanju's favorite comforting drink right at home. Kyoto-based Tamanohikari Sake Brewery announced the upcoming release of the “Chiikawa Nihonshu and Dashi dashi-wari set,” scheduled to hit shelves on November 10, 2026. Pre-orders open online today, October 5, 2026.
The kit brings to life the popular dashi-wari style of drinking, where sake is blended into warm savory dashi broth. Designed for easy prep, the package includes a 180ml bottle of Junmai Ginjo sake, a 150ml bottle of concentrated dashi broth, a recipe guide, and a collectible cup featuring Kurimanju. The cup comes marked with fill lines for hot water and broth, helping users hit the perfect flavor ratio before topping it off with sake.
Attention to detail also extends to the packaging itself. The box is decorated with memorable moments from Kurimanju's adventures, including a cheeky appearance by the lizard stealing his liquor license on the side panel.
The product marks another milestone year for the Chiikawa franchise, following the release of its first feature film and preceding the launch of manga volume 9 in late November. The set will be available through Tamanohikari's official online store.
