Toshima Ward has announced plans to install two official Jujutsu Kaisen design manhole covers in Nishi-Ikebukuro on October 21, 2026. The initiative leverages the area's role as a primary setting in the anime's third season giving series fans and anime pilgrims dedicated local spots to visit.
The project highlights Nishi-Ikebukuro's connection to the story, which prominently features landmarks like Ikebukuro West Gate Park during the series' high-stakes Culling Game arc. Toshima Ward officials hope the new installations will draw both domestic and international visitors to the neighborhood, celebrating its identity as a hub for manga and pop culture.
The two themed covers feature distinct pairings:
Yuji Itadori and Kento Nanami: Installed near the Ikebukuro West Gate Five-Way Intersection (Nishi-Ikebukuro 3-chome).
Megumi Fushiguro and Shoko Ieiri: Installed near Kanamecho Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho and Fukutoshin Lines (Nishi-Ikebukuro 5-chome).
Installation is set for October 21, with backup dates scheduled for October 26 or 28 in case of rain. Official confirmation and exact location details will be published on the Toshima Ward website and X account once the covers are placed.
