JR East trains branded with the iconic Suica penguin will be out in the wild for a limited time to celebrate 25 years of the mascot character.
Running now on the Yamanote Line until December 2, the interior of the trains has been completely redecorated with Suica branding, including different images of the penguin all the way down the carriage doors. This redesign is part of the Penguin Years campaign that function as both a celebration of 25 years since the invention of the Suica IC card and a farewell to the penguin character in March 2027.
